The Mutual UFO Network and each of its individual 50 state affiliates operates as a non-profit entity. Field Investigators spend their own money to fund gasoline, tolls, and other expenses involved with each UFO investigation. The Pennsylvania branch of MUFON supports its members and investigators by providing continuing education, a coordinated communications system within the state, and several symposiums each year.
